This is a nice oil painting on canvas by Segunda Huertas. This piece shows an abstract image with muted colors of orange yellow and brown. This piece is signed in the lower right in oil "S. Huertas". According to the auction records on the website AskArt his artwork has sold for as much as $456US.

ARTIST INFO: This is a biography taken from the website AskArt about Segundo Huertas. Segundo Huertas [Aguiar] was born in San Juan, Argentina, in 1923. While growing up on a farm, he spent most of his spare time painting landscapes from nature. He is known for his seascapes, landscapes and steet scenes. "The paintings of Segundo Huertas are landscape and seascape tributes to the beauty in nature. He paints poetic settings inspired by the outdoors. The mood ranges from the peaceful solitude of a mountain paradise to the blazing fury of the heated desert horizon." -Jan Jennings, Art Critic 1977
Collectors have described Huertas as the Ansel Adams of painting. Huertas has captured the majesty of America's landscapes and seascapes on his canvas.
His entire life has been devoted to his paintings. As a youngster, he learned to paint outdoors using the landscape of his native Argentina as his subjects. During his formative years, he studied carefully the works of Rembrandt, which has greatly influenced his brilliant treatment of light in his paintings.
In 1965, Huertas moved to the United States, where he eventually became a naturalized citizen. He settled in the Chicago area, where he lived for twenty-five years. During this period, Huertas traveled extensively across America capturing virtually every region in his paintings.
In New York about 1977, he created his first lithographs at the American Atelier. He loved his new medium and was especially attracted to the wide range of colour he was able to achieve.
At the age of 83, he has moved back to Argentina.

He often signes his paintings S. Huertas. One distinctive charateristic of his signature is the "leaning T". The letter T in Huertas leans to the left. Sometimes he signs with his full name "Segundo Huertas"
